Beneath the waters of the Aegean Sea lay the remains of an ancient ship, its treasures scattered across the seabed. Among the statues, coins, and fragments of a forgotten world was a corroded lump of bronze that concealed something extraordinary: a machine of intricate gears designed more than 2,000 years ago to follow the movements of the heavens.
